The diode is an important electronic component that composed of P-type and N-type, and has a unidirectional conduction function. It conducts only when PN is forward biased and negative voltage is applied, and it signed by a triangle from P to N.
A transistor, also known as a triode, consists two layers of N-type semiconductors sandwiching one layer of P-type semiconductor,or two layers P-type semiconductors sandwiching one layer of N-type semiconductor.
Application
Diodes have been applied widely, such as rectification, switching, detection, amplitude limiting, voltage regulation, triggering, damping, amplification, display and so on.
Transistors have been often used in electronic amplifiers, audio amplifiers, radio frequency amplifiers, voltage regulator circuits, or as switching components in digital circuits.
