Power TVS is specially designed for AC line protection. It is a high power clamping type (voltage limiting type) overvoltage protection element. When entering, it can limit the external voltage within tens of volts at the speed of microseconds, thereby protecting the back-end IC or devices on the circuit from damage.
Power TVS products are made by silicon technology, and that provides lower clamping voltages under surges than MOV technologies.
Application
Mainly used to protect SURGE, Lighting, ESD from voltage damage.
Due to the characteristics of high capacitance value, it is currently mainly used for primary side power ports or low-speed interfaces.
